Just like people, pets need regular check-ups in order to maintain good physical health. At Branchburg Animal Hospital, we perform veterinary physical exams for all our patients. This routine pet care is critical for maintaining pet health.
Pet wellness check-ups are beneficial to pets for a variety of reasons, including:
Early Illness Detection- You may not notice symptoms of pet illness, but your pet's veterinarian probably will. Taking your pet in for regular checkups can help your pet's veterinarian find diseases and conditions in their early stages.
Veterinarian & Pet Relationship- Pets that see the veterinarian on a regular basis often adjust to the veterinarian more easily, which can be important if your pet ever develops a serious medical condition.
Pet Owner Education- During your pet's wellness exam, you pet's veterinarian can answer any questions that you might have about your pet's health. Each time you leave our pet hospital, we hope you'll be a little bit more knowledgeable about your pet's physical health.
During a typical pet wellness exam, your pet's veterinarian will check the following systems:
Fur and skin- The state of your pet's fur and skin is a good indicator of your pet's overall health.
Eyes- Your pet's veterinarian will check your pet's eyes and vision.
Mouth- During your pet's routine exam, the veterinarian will check your pet's teeth for cavities and plaque.
Heartbeat and breathing- The veterinarian will check your pet's heartbeat and breathing for abnormalities.
...and much more! During the physical exam, your pet's veterinarian will give your pet a full-body check to find all symptoms of illness.
At Branchburg Animal Hospital, we perform regular wellness checkups for pets of all types and sizes in Branchburg, Bridgewater & Bedminster, NJ . Dogs and cats, young and old should all see their veterinarian on a regular basis.
